2009 Softball Season
The 2009 Softball Schedule has been posted.
The 2009 varsity softball team will return 7 key players from the 2008 team. Tryouts will determine the 2009 varsity newcomers. Seniors: Infielder-Danielle Geist, Outfielder-Emily Prehoda, Pitcher-Haylee Staton, and Outfielder-Megan Stockberger. Juniors: Catcher-Daniele Durham, and Infielder-Nicole DeLisle. Sophomore: Pitcher-Emily Mayfield
The 2009 varsity and jv teams will be finalized after January 26th.

Senior pitcher/shortstop, Haylee Staton signed her letter of intent today. She will recieve a full ride to play for the University of Texas- San Antonio. Haylee is a four year varsity starter and has been named the following: As a freshman, 2006 Newcomer of the Year, 1st Team All-District Centerfielder and team Offensive Player of the Year. In 2007 as a sophomore, she was named by her team as Offensive Player of the Year. Staton was named along with teammate Brittany Mack to CenTex Sportswriter's 1st Team, and 1st Team All-District 2nd basmen. It will be exciting to see Haylee lead the Warriors in defending their back-2-back district championship.

Brittany, A senior pitcher at Westwood High, struck out 39 batters in a1-0 loss to Stony Point, giving up an unearned run in the 21st inning. This year the right-hander is 18-9 with an .076 ERA and 338 strikeouts in 183 innings. She will play for LSU next fall.
