Warrior Golf

The Men's two golf teams placed 3rd and 4th in the 3 round District Golf Championship this past week and three players earned All-District Honors with their play. Those players are Jordan Shephard, Sameer Paul and Chandler Jennings.

The Women's team finished 2nd and will advance to the State Regional Playoffs in Waco April 22 and 23. Two players earned All-District Honors: Cheryl Feldmaier and Michelle Hartenstein.

Lady Warrior Softball wins Bi-District Championship

The Lady Warriors won 2 "must win" games against Belton. On Friday the ladies won 3-1 and on Saturday they finished the rain delayed second game with a 5-3 victory. See the softball web site for more details

Lady Warrior Varsity Lacrosse

Lady Warrior Varsity Lacrosse earns a spot in the TGHSLL State Tournament ---(Texas Girl's High School Lacrosse League) after defeating St. Andrews 10-8 on Tuesday April 22, 2008.

The Lady Warriors go on to play Cedar Park for the district title Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. District playoffs will be held at St Andrews.

The state tournament will be held in Houston on May 10-11.


JV Orange Boys Soccer

The JV Orange Boys Soccer team went undefeated this season scoring 47 goals and allowing only 5. They went to the finals in the pre season tournament scoring 24 and allowing only 4 losing out in penalty kicks. Last season, this same core group of players only lost 2 games. The future for Westwood Soccer looks bright!

Warrior Track: Round Rock Relays

The JV boys took 4th place overall lead by a 42'8 1/2" shot put throw by Aaron Cobb and a first place finish by Miles Pierce in the 1600 Meters. Also showing well for the varsity girls were Audrey Dwyer with a first place finish in the pole vault (10'3") and Natalie Nooner with a first place finish in the 100M hurdles (:15.78). Soccer: JV Lady Warriors take 1st Place in District

Congratulations to the JV Lady Warriors Soccer team for earning 1st place in the District, scoring 59 goals & ending the season with a 12-2-0 record.


Westwood Softball Shines in California

Westwood Softball The nationally ranked (43) Westwood Softball team had a record of 3-2 at the Nike "Faster to First Invitational" this past Spring Break. This tournament was put on by Nike and held in Huntington Beach, CA.

Westwood was the only team from Texas.Also attending were some of the top 20 teams in the nation including teams from California, Arizona, and Florida.

 This link describes NIKE SPARQ testing and the results of our Westwood team.  Haylee finished in the top ten over all and top five in the 20 yard dash out of 300 girls

Brittany Mack won the "You Should See Me When I'm Healthy Award" and Tiffany Gates won the "Supportive Award". more



Warrior Softball Plays 18 Innings, Game will Resume on Saturday

The Westwood Warrior Softball team had a 18 inning ball game against Stony Point last Wednesday. The game went to Midnight and the Warriors were forced to postpone the game.It will resume in the 19th inning with a score 0-0 this Saturday at Westwood. Gametime is 1:00pm.

Senior,Brittany Mack has 36 strike-outs to Stony Point's, Ashley Kirk's 32. The results will determine who will be tied for first with Round Rock.

After the 18 inning game against Stony, the Warriors played McNeil the next night and dominated defensively and offensively. Brittany Mack came off the 18 inning ball game and completed a shutout against McNeil. Key players were: Brittany Mack, Emily Prehoda, Tiffany Bjerke, and Alyson Calman. Emily Prehoda had her first homerun, while Tiffany Bjerke recorded a grand slam. Alyson Calman went 4-4.


News from the Warriors Swim Team

Warriors swim to personal records

On Saturday February 23rd senior Aimee Spooner broke her own record and took 5th in finals in the 100-yard butterfly.Senior Caleb McSorley swam  a personal best time and took 5th in finals of the 50-yard freestyle.

Ryan Place, Trevor Dielman, Zach Dielman and Caleb McSorley took the Bronze Medal in the men's 200-yard medley relay.

Jocie Colella, Megan Raitt, Aimee Spooner and Michelle Huang took 5th place in the  200-yard medley relay and broke a personal record.
