Randy Davis

The Westwood Warriors dropped their game against the Georgetown Eagles by a score of 20-0. The Warrior offense continues to struggle to find it’s rhythm as they had a tough time moving the ball against the Eagle defense all night long. The Warriors Defense played well all night long. Even though the Eagles Offense scored 2 touchdowns and 2 field goals, the Warriors Defense had plenty to be proud of Friday Night at Georgetown Athletic Complex. The Eagle Offense had short fields several times after offensive turnovers and poor kicking game miscues. One Eagle score was on a well executed play-action pass and the other a rushing touchdown on a 4th and goal effort. Shawn Hoeferkamp, Chris Sims, and Marcus-Fischer Jones all had game changing performances on the defensive side of the ball. Their presence made it difficult for the Eagle Offense to be as successful as they had been use to (9-0). The Warrior Defense will continue to work to improve as we prepare for the Leander Lions next week at the Warrior Bowl.

Freshman Orange - 26 Georgetown - 39

The Westwood Warriors Freshman Orange team lost to Georgetown on Friday evening by a score of 39-26. Georgetown took an early 14 point lead. However, the Warrior Offense found the footing and soon began moving the ball very effectively. Eric Tran continued to run the ball hard and with success while Travis Wilde and Nick Andress paired up for several completions. The Warrior defense struggled most of the evening. The Warriors only successfully stopped the Eagles 2 times while the Warrior offense only stalled 4 times – which amounted to the difference in the game.
