Sub Varsity Game Summary

JV Orange- 13 Vista Ridge – 14

Danny Faust

The JV finished the JV season last night on a positive effort. It has been a season of ups and downs with injuries, kids moving to varsity and grades that played its toll on the JV. However through all the adversity, the kids played extremely hard and were in position to win several games. Although the final record 1-9,which is not what we wanted, we feel excited to get this group into offseason.

The Warriors played a good ball game last night. There were some opportunities to keep a lead but the Warriors were unable to get the win.

Offense

There were several great performances :Frank Mora did a great job in his first start, he had several nice runs and a 50 yard TD pass. Ryan Leggett had a 50 yard TD reception , several good catches and some KO blocks. Quiton Marshall had several nice runs. Weston Washington had some catches and ran well after the catch. The offense moved the ball well most of the night because of the great blocking by the offensive line, they are Hunter Cottle, James Garringer, Chris Beaver, Justin Yu nad Forrest Six.

Defense

The defense played well and hit hard all night. The Vista Ridge offense just produced on some critical 3rd downs that resulted in two scoring drives. Defensive standouts during the game include: LB Tyler Lewis/Travis Brumley, DL Ryan Jaber/Hunter Cottle, and DB Jordan Gaston/Alex Brankner. Another game of great effort on defense, with a disappointing result.

Special Forces

Great effort but were unable to use this team to help win the game

Freshman Orange 23 Vista Ridge 12

Tom Robbins

The orange finished on a good note with a solid win against the Rangers. The scoring started with a 33 yard field goal from Colin McGuire. Then the warriors added a touchdown with a 55 yard strike form Sam Swenson to Chris Sims. Then, at the end of the first half D’Andre Roach picked up a loose ball and rumbled 82 yards for a touchdown. Justin Dixon added a 37 yard touchdown run down the sideline at the beginning of the third quarter. Also playing well for the offense was Arvell Harris, Michael Martinez, and Bastian York. The defense was all over the field and played with an attitude all night long. They were very impressive in the win for the warriors. The defense was led by Blake Thomas, Tyler Logan, Max Boatright, Ty Marshall, and Brad Watson. Blake Thomas had an interception for the warriors.

Freshman White 12 Vista Ridge 16

Mike Whitten

The Warrior white team played a heck of game but came up a little short against a good Vista Ridge team. The offense scored twice on the night. The first one of the night was Emerson Delgado on the zone read from six yards out. This was possible thanks to some great blocking up front from Konner Risha, Christian Moellenhoff, Jon Kelly, Ethan Rhea and Saif Momin. The other score come on a reverse with Matt Lee leading the way for 30+ yards into the end-zone. The defense played great on the night, but due to some costly miscues from the offense was left with a short field several times in the game. Key players on the defense were Andrew Bagaline, Mac Freeman, Adam Zess, Derek Maunder, Ricky Brown, and John Kelly. The Freshman White team is done for the year and will start working through a rigorous off season to prepare for the upcoming spring practice season.
