Sub Varsity Game Summary
JV Orange 20 - Stony Point 21
The Warriors gave a valiant effort last night in a great ball game. We are disappointed about losing, but are able to hold our heads high because of fighting through the adversity the JV orange has faced. With injuries and the Flu, several people were asked to play the entire game. The effort was tremendous but the Warriors fell short 21-20.
The Warrior defense was outstanding. Ian Fry recovered and returned a fumble for a 60 yard TD in the 1st quarter. The warriors stretched the lead to 14-0 when Kyle Jacobson completed a 2 yard TD pass to Weston Washington.
Stony Point scored in the 2nd quarter to end the half 14-7 Westwood. The Warriors offense was slowed down in the 2nd half and left the defense in some tough situations and the Tigers were able to capitalize. The tigers took the lead in the 4th 21-14. The Warrior did not give up with 2 minutes left from their own 10 yard line; Kyle Jacobson hit Madden Hutcheson on a huge 1st down completion. Several nice plays were made by Andrew Meaux and Rymages/an Leggit. The Warriors pulled within 1 on a TD strike From Jacobson to Leggit . The Warriors go for the win, but were stopped leaving the score 21-20 Stony Point. This Warriors play Round Rock next week.

JV White 0 - Stony Point 33
The Westwood Warriors traveled to Stony Point High School to play the tigers and ended up dropping the contest by a score of 0-33. The Warrior offense again moved the ball up and down the field but could not reach the endzone despite making it into the redzone. Wide Receiver Tucker Kennemer had a few big catches and Running Back Weslee Rocco did a fine juob of running the ball as well as almost returning a kickoff for a touchdown. The Warriors defense led by Travis Brumley, Nestor Rubiano, and Tyler Lewis played valiantly but were unable to stop the Tiger’s rushing attack. Playing well for the Warriors was Jaime Garcia who came up with his first interception of the season. The Warriors will take on the Round Rock Dragons next week at Dragon Stadium.
-Danny Faust
Freshman Orange 13 - Stony Point 14
The orange team played a good game in the mud against the Stony Point Tigers. The Warriors battled and were not able to convert on a two point conversion that would have won the game. The warrior defense was led by Tyler Logan, Parker Hanusa, D’Andre Roach, Justin Dixon, and Lagarius Miller. The offense was able to move the ball, but not able to put the ball in the end zone very often. The first touchdown was scored by Justin Dixon that was set up on a long run by Tanner Osborn. The extra point was made by Colin McGuire. The second touchdown was scored on a nice play by Chris Sims on a throw from Sam Swenson. The entire offensive line played well and dominated the line of scrimmage.
-Tom Robbins
Freshman White 7 - Stony Point 20
The Warrior White team received their first loss of the year against a very Quick Stony Point team. Defense played a pretty good game, overall, behind solid linebacker play from Andrew Bagaline, Matt Lee, and Brad Watson. The offense’s only touchdown came on a screen play to Ty Marshall. The offense came close a couple of other times but could not punch it in. The Warriors will look to bounce back next week against Round Rock.
