Sub Varsity Game Summary
JV Orange - 0 McNeil – 27
The Warriors played hard on Thursday night. The score seems lopsided, however it was a very competitive game. There were several players making some great plays, but as a team there were too many breakdowns which contributed to the loss.
The offense moved the ball well most of the night, but a few dropped and overthrown passes on key plays, kept the Warriors out of the endzone. There were some great efforts by Madden Hutcheson who kept the offense moving with several clutch catches. Kyle Jacobson had a nice game along with offensive lineman Hunter Cottle. Other contributers were Andrew Meaux, Josh Quintana, Weston Washington and Dustin Madson. The Warrior Defense stood strong on several McNeil drives. A fumble recovery by Jordan Fischer and an interception by Kent Holmstrom ended two of McNeil’s efforts to score. Sacks from Jordan Fischer, Kent Holmstrom, and Tyler Lewis helped end other attempted scoring drives for the Mavericks. In the end, missed tackles and big plays resulted in 4 Maverick touchdowns. Notable players from the defense are: DL-Tyler Lewis, LB-Ian Fry/Jordan Fischer, Secondary-Jordan Gaston. The Warrior Special Forces also played hard. The Warriors blocked one PAT attempt. Christian Woodley did a fine job punting the ball.
The Warriors play Cedar Park next week at Cedar Park.

Freshman Orange 14 McNeil 44
The orange team played a talented McNeil team that took over after the first score by Warriors. The warriors were not able to convert on a fumble recovery by the defense, but Sam Swenson punched it in on the next drive with a one yard run. Then McNeil had some passes that hurt the Warriors and the warriors trailed 20-7 at the half. In the second half Justin Dixon had a 43 yard touchdown run. That was the only scoring despite the receptions by Chris Sims, Tyler Logan, Drew Hillhouse, and Jackson Crowley. The defense had some good moments stopping the McNeil Maverick offense. The defense was led by Max Boatright, A.J. Peterson, Chris Sims, Blake Thomas, and Dayne Bullock. The Warriors play the Cedar Park Timberwolves.
-Tom Robbins
Freshman White 0 McNeil 21
The warrior white team had a tough game against a fast Maverick team. The warrior defense played hard but was unable to find an answer for a fast McNeil Offensive attack. The warrior offense played well at times and was able to move the ball down the field, but costly miscues kept the warriors scoreless on the night. The Warriors will play Cedar Park next week at home.
