Sub Varsity Game Summary
JV Orange- 19 Harker Heights – 21
The Warriors had a great showing last night but came up short 21-19. The offensive line played great. They opened up running lanes and did a great job in pass protection. Those guys are Ross Lodge, Justin YU, Hunter Cottle, Forrest Six and Chris Moritz. The offense was lead by Kyle Jacobson who had a tremendous throwing and running. He threw for 2 TD passes to Ryan Legget for 15 yards and Madden Hutcheson for 40 yards. Weston Washington and Andrew Meaux also had some nice catches. The rushing attack was lead by Quiton Marshall was ran tough all night and scored on 1 yard run.
The defense played really well even after several quick turnarounds from turnovers. The Knights QB was a tough one to bring down, he made some Heisman like runs to score for the Knights. The defense created several opportunities for the offense in the 4th but the offense was unable to punch it in. Andrew Shiery recovered a fumble with 1 minute left to give the Warriors another chance. Standouts for the defense were Jordan Fischer, Ian Fry, Alex Brankner and Jake Balog. The Warriors play Austin High next week.

JV White- 0 Harker Heights – 0
The Westwood Warriors traveled to Killeen to play the Harker Heights Knights and came away with another tie from a score of 0-0. The Warrior offense played well and moved the ball up and down the field all night but just couldn’t find the endzone. The offensive line, consisting of Mike Olson, Will Pollock, James Garringer, Chris Beaver, and Ty McCall again opened up huge running lanes for the quarterbacks and running backs. Wide Receiver Taha Ali also had a nice catch and run to help the Warriors move the chains. The Warriors defense led by Wesley Rocco and Will Kelley kept their opponent scoreless for the second week in a row. A highlight of the night came when Andrew Medford recovered a fumble and rumbled down the field for a score that was negated by a penalty. Cornerback Jaime Garcia played a near flawless game breaking up two big passes that ended two Knights’ first half drives as well as contributing several tackles. Jogil Rivera who normally lines up on offense, stepped up big and filled in nicely at cornerback. Adding pressure to the Knights’ quarterbacks were Tyrell Walker and Travis Brumley. Next week the Warriors will take on the Austin High Maroons.
