Sub Varsity Game Summary
JV Orange - 21 Georgetown – 28
The Orange team traveled to Georgetown Friday night. The Warriors played a really good game, we had a chance to tie the game in the last few seconds but came up short.
The offense started out with a bang in the 1st half with several tough runs from Weston Washington. Madden Hutcheson scored on a 10 yard pass from Kyle Jacobson. With several nice passes and catches by Josh Quitana and Dalton Buchan the Warriors scored on another 30 yard pass from Jacobson to Buchan to give the Warriors the lead 14-7. With seconds till the half, Coach Davis called a double pass from Andrew Meaux to a wide open Josh Quintana for a 50 yard TD leaving the halftime score 21-14 Warriors. The second half the offense moved the ball well but were unable to put more points on the board. The success of the offense rested on the offensive line. They were Hunter Cottle, Chris Beaver, James Garringer, Justin Yu and Micheal Olson.
The defense was strong all night with the exception of a few big plays by Georgetown. The Defensive Front was anchored by strong play from Jake Balog with 2 sacks, Kent Holmstrom with 2 sacks, and Tyler Lewis with great effort all night long. The Warrior Linebackers played with a lot of heart and pride…lead by Jordan Fischer and Ian Fry. Georgetown’s runningback proved to be difficult to stop at times, but was limited by the play of the warriors defense. In the secondary, Jeffrey Gaston lead the group in tackles…while Alex Brankner, Jordan Fischer, and Ian Fry all had Pass Breakups. Defensive players of the game include: DL: Tyler Lewis LB: Jordan Fischer SEC: Alex Brankner
We had some good efforts on special team. Andrew Meaux had a great return to lead to the 1st TD. Zack Lieninger was 3 for 3 on Extra points and did a great job on all Kick offs. Weston Washington laid the biggest hit of the year on a KO return.
The Warriors have a lot of positives to build off of from Friday night. We will go back to work.
We play McNeil Thursday at The RRISD Complex.

Freshman Orange 10 Georgetown 13
The Warriors had a difficult night against a salty Georgetown team. They were able to move the ball against the Eagles, but were only able to put the ball in the end zone once on a 50 yard touchdown run by Justin Dixon. Peter Krieg also had many good carries for the warriors. Also, Arvell Harris and Drew Hillhouse made a nice catch each from Sam Swenson. The defense was led by Chris Sims, Blake Thomas, A.J. Peterson, and Parker Hanusa. Chris Sims also had an interception for the Warriors. Next week the Warriors play McNeil on Thursday.
-Tom Robbins
Freshman White 7 Georgetown 35
The warrior white team had a tough game against a fast and strong Georgetown team. The Warrior defense had a tough assignment playing against a much bigger front line on the Eagle Offense. The Warrior Defense played hard the entire game and never took a down off. Brad Watson was a key player against the Eagle Offense. The Warrior Offense scored on the second drive of the game on a long run by Andrew Bagaline thanks to some key blocking by Konner Risha, Christian Moellenhoff, Jon Kelley, Ethan Rhea, and Saif Momin. Mac Freeman had a solid night long snapping for the Warrior special teams. The Warriors will play McNeil next week at McNeil.
