JV White - 42

Lake Travis - 6

The Westwood Warriors started the season with a bang with a 42-6 victory over the Lake Travis Cavaliers. The offense played extremely well and just punished the Cavalier defense all night long. The offensive line, consisting of Kent Holmstrom, Tyler Smith, Jared Garcia, Jordan Fischer, and Jake Balog, allowed Quarterback Kyle Jacobson to throw for 4 touchdowns and running backs Weston Washington and Andrew Meaux to rush for 1 touchdown apiece. Jacobson connected with Washington, Meaux, and wide receiver Madden Hutcheson for all of his touchdown throws. Wide receivers Zach Leininger and Dalton Buchan also had very big days for the Warriors, making multiple key catches all night long!! The Warrior Defense played like at "Steel Curtain" to dominate and contain the Cavaliers. The defensive line, consisting of Jacob Levitus, Keith Quintanilla, Kavin Ajani and Ross Hendrickson gave the Lake Travis offensive line and Quarterback trouble all night long with consistent confusion and pressure. Ross Hendrickson recovered a fumble at the end of the 2nd Quarter going into half time, to help secure an even bigger lead in the game. The linebackers amassed tackle after tackle through Jordan Fisher, Garret Baskin and Blake Traywick. The secondary was a force to be reckoned with last night. Keif Alvey, Daniel Duncan, AJ Johnson, Alex Brankner, Ryan Stidham and Matthew Litz provided great coverage and made bone crushing hits. Matthew Litz intercepted a pass on a post route in the 4th Quarter to finish off the Cavaliers. The Defense and the team played very well last night. The JV White Football Team will have action next Thursday, September 5, 2008 at %:30 PM against Harker Heights at the Round Rock ISD
