Cheerleading Try-Outs!
Cheerleading Try-Outs InformationCheer Try-outs for current 8th graders through current 11th graders will by on Saturday, March 24th. Each potential cheerleader and their parent or gaurdian must attend the mandatory Try-out Information Meeting on Monday, January 30th for the cheerleader or mascot to be qualified to try-out. A make up meeting will be conducted Thursday, February 2nd for anyone who can't attend the first meeting.
STEP ONE: Attend one of the Mandatory Parent/Candidate Informational Meetings.
A.AT THE TRYOUT MEETING YOU SHOULD:
1.Get a gray envelope with the tryout packet inside
2.Order your $10 tryout uniform (turn it in during school break out session)
a.Make checks out to WHS Cheer 2192.03
b.Checks must include driver's license number
STEP TWO: Turn in your completed and correct (see details below) tryout packet by the deadline.
A.Turn in to Coach Carpenter (room E1202) or Coach Kemp (room C1205).
B.Please paperclip the documents together in order. Place all the below documents in the gray folder given to you at the tryout meeting. On the front of the gray envelope, put the candidate’s: Last name, First name.
1.Letter of Intent
2.Current Physical/Medical History Form – expires one year from last exam
3.Emergency Card
4.Student Extracurricular Code of Conduct, Medical Release & Hazing Agreement
5.Warrior Cheerleading & Escort Form
6.Student/Parent WHS Cheerleading Signature Form
STEP THREE: A grade and discipline screening will be conducted by the Coaches/Principal.
A.A failure of two (2) six-weeks or more will deem you ineligible to tryout.
B.The referral screening is outlined in the RRISD district handbook.
C.Candidates not eligible to tryout will be notified before the tryout clinic.
STEP FOUR: Attend RRISD Tryout Clinic
A.Attend at least 50% of the RRISD Tryout Clinic
B.Receive your tryout uniform at the clinic.
